Indpendence Day Sequels?

Welcome to Earth!



Is it true that Will Smith will be fighting aliens not once again, but twice? According to film site IESB, they have a tip that the man who saved Earth fourteen years ago has now been signed on for two sequels! Roland Emmerich would be directing once again. According to Fox co-chairman Tim Rothman, they've wanted a sequel to ID4 for years, but several things like conflicting schedules and the price to actually sign Will Smith ($20 million up front and first-dollar gross!) have stood in the way.


I hope this comes about. I still enjoy watching Independence Day when I'm just in the mood or a fun movie!

I love the idea too! Although I agree with Peter that it could turn out weird, depending on what they do with the script. Hopefully, it wouldn't turn into just a more expensive version of "V"!

yeah, what a MASSIVE disappointment V is!!!

Just another cop show with a side salad of alien.

AND... they are all American....the aliens I mean!

They could have been clever and cast Swedish or Norse people, with funny acccent and blonde looks, that would have gone some way to suggest aliens.

I'm annoyed obviously, I was looking forward to it.
