From the makers of My Big Fat Greek Wedding comes a tale about
throwing caution to the wind a rediscovering ancient history but in a
Georgia (Nia Vardalos) or "ange" as she is affectionately known is a
tour guide who feel upon the unlikely profession after she was made
redundant teaching at Athens university.
She has lost focus and love is a distant memory and her tours are
"average" according to her customers.
Then she meets Irv (Richard Dreyfuss) a self proclaimed Greek God who
mourning the loss of his wife (Rita Wilson) has embarked on this
journey though it doesn't feel the same without her.
The eclectic tour group is full of stereotypes, divorcees, Americans,
English and the obligatory Aussies who can't really be taken seriously
because they were constantly drinking Fosters. (tip to the
international readers- we don't actually drink fosters in Australia
but it's the only beer you've heard of)
Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks are among the producers on this feature which would account
for the Wilson cameo, and it has all the warm sentiments of a Hanks
Rom-Com.
The scenery was tantalising and the variations on Zorbas Dance that litter the soundtack keep you in a very holiday vibe. My Life In Ruins is a heart warming romantic holiday escapist movie to
behind.
