New A-Team Trailer
"There Is No Plan B"
This is the tagline for the the upcoming A-Team movie and, from the looks of the latest trailer, no Plan B is needed. Directed by Joe Carnahan and with release scheduled for June 11, this film looks like a bona fide summer blockbuster! From what I've seen so far, there's lots of action and lots of comedy, two of the things which made the TV series such a guilty pleasure to watch. And watch it I did!
Judging by the trailers, Liam Neeson looks like the embodiment of Hannibal Smith, the role played so well by George Peppard. Bradley Cooper seems to have all the charm of the original Templeton "Faceman" Peck, Dirk Benedict. Quentin "Rampage" Jackson looks to be a more-than-competent B.A. Baracus. The only member of the team I have reservations about is Sharlto Copley as Howling Mad Murdock and, quite frankly, that's because Murdock was always my favorite character from the TV series, and I loved the way he was played by Dwight Schultz. He may, in fact, have something to do with why I majored in psychology in college!
I was one of the 'ahem', less enthusiastic movie-goers when a film version of The A-Team was first announced. My enthusiasm grew by leaps and bounds however, when Liam Neeson was announced as Hannibal Smith. And this latest trailer has all but brought me around completely! The van is here. Hannibal's cigar is here. And all the action and special effects are here. I'm already buying my popcorn!
