Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

"If you want something bad you've got to fight for it."

Contains *SPOILERS*

Could we really appreciate this kind of cinema for its passion and inspiration to give the video game culture a soul that outsiders can relate to?

Let me take a step or maybe seven back.
Awkardness, fear and anxiety describe Scott Pilgrim and his group. From the punkish new- age music to the misfit attitude, Scott Pilgrim vs the World lives up to its hipster or -more accurately- slacker fame.

A familiar story really, you have to fight to earn the trust and respect for a new relationship to blossom so Scott and Ramona instictively fight for theirs with any means possible.
Nevertheless. every emotional memory has its own weapons and you're going to need a certain level of character attributes in order to surpass them.
Hastily they climb to bed along with all their past lovers leaving no room for them but why not ,despite the odds, try again? Eventually, leaving past behind earns them credits to continue on with their relationship.

This is not your average run of the mill movie. Above and beyond expectations it actually is a stylistic masterpiece, a classic cult in the making.
When teenagers everyday lose their attention span due to the incredible amount of information processed, Scott Pilgrim does a nice job to keep its audience attached.

Every actor justified more than adequate the portrayal of their characters. Kieran Culkin and Alison Pill shined through their roles as the witty gay roomate and Scott's ex drummer girlfriend respectively, Kim's one-liners bring to mind flame wars that we are all familiar with.

Edgar Wright's directing and cross-media stylistic approach reacts on this age's calling and embraces it as a central theme instead of a gadget, an extra in order to attract certain groups.

Scott: "It sort of feels that i am on drugs when i am with you, not that i do drugs, unless you do drugs in which case i do drugs all the time. every drug..."

A little bit of sunshine in the usually bad weather of Canada because every generation deserves to live in a dream, even the more cynical ones.
