The Hangover - a Well-Hung Sucker-Punch Comedy
Director: Todd Philips
Writer(s): John Lucas, Scott Moore
Cast: Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Justin Bartha, Heather Graham, Ken Jeong, Mike Tyson
Rating: 4 /5
What do you get when you cross Mike Tyson, a chicken, a tiger, a baby, a
bunch of guys and Caesars Palace Hotel in Vegas? Perhaps the funniest
guy movie I have ever seen - no joke!
Bradley Cooper(Failure To Launch) and Heather Graham (Almost Famous) are both spot on funny in this eclectic cast which includes;
For me Bradley and Heather in the same cast was a bittersweet
experience as it featured a star well and truly on the rise and one on
the way down from critically acclaimed heights
The owner of the aforementioned tiger is mike Tyson himself who puts
in a knock out performance as himself, out for rock star glory, and
feeling slightly empty after noticing his beloved tiger missing.
The story revolves around a bachelor party between 4 wolves from very
different packs. They wake up the morning after the big event to find
their suite has been trashed and one of them is missing. They can't
remember a thing, but set about trying to put the pieces back together.
I sensed a nod to cinema greats such as Tarrantino and Scorsese here,
and a blatant homage to Robert Luketics 21.
The thing that makes this movie work lies in the reason they can't
remember the party. It not only plugs the gaps in logic but provides
for a pleasant punch line.
With so much familiarity and "boy humour" you could be forgiven for
thinking this was a toilet gag shy of a spoof movie, but it was more
than that. The Hangover heralds a return to clever comedy for the
masses.
Ps, this movie has end credits you DO want to sit through.

I love this movie so much. Easily my favourite comedy of the last 5 years or so.
