Cinema Rat favourite Robert Downey Jr. is in talks to play Lestat in a rebirth of The Vampire Chronicles. Lestat was a role made famous by Tom Cruise in Neil Jordan's 1994 film Interview with the Vampire however CR believes Downey Jr. will bring...(wait for it)..fresh blood to the vampish role.

You're not serious! I think he'd make a striking Lestat, but I hope they don't remake Interview. Let them do one of the other books, and I think he'd be brilliant. I hadn't heard about this, but RDJ is one of my favorites and I love Anne Rice. Here's hoping it's as good as it has potential to be.

I think he is one of the best actors of his generation like Edward Norton and would definitely do full justice to the character
